Who should decide which Medicare Insurance Plan is best for you?
It would seem to be an easy enough answer, but many people will decide based on outside influence. Influence could be from a family member, friend, or Medicare agent. We are talking about Medicare Advantage Plans and Medicare Supplement Plans, which are also called Medigap Plans.

Many people who are thinking about changing their Medicare Insurance Plan, or are new to Medicare, ask their family and friends and may call an ad they see on TV for their opinions. These are the influences we are discussing.

These are the several types of influencers:
Family members: They may have a Medicare Insurance Plan, which they feel is best for them. That is why they have it. They may offer advice due to their understanding of Medicare Insurance Plans.
Friends: They may have a Medicare Insurance Plan, which they feel is best for them. That is why they have it. They may offer their advice due to their understanding of Medicare Insurance Plans.
Captive agents (they only work for one company): They can only explain the plans that their company offers and cannot compare them to other companies. They need to fit you into one of their plans.
Agents from ads without a website and follow-up support: Their job is to sell you on a plan. They have paid a company for your information, in order to contact you to sell you a plan. In most cases, they try to convince you to buy the plan during one phone call.
These are the differences between working with Welch Insurance and influencers.
